iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X were unveiled at the Steve Jobs Theatre at the new Apple Campus in California on Tuesday. Of course, the iPhone X - with its Face ID facial recognition system, an OLED almost bezel-less display, and wireless charging support - is the star of the show but it is, in fact, the iPhone X price in India that is fans are finding a little hard to wrap their heads around. The iPhone X is scheduled to go on sale from November 3 (including India), while the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will go on sale as soon as September 22 in the US. In India, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are set to go on sale as soon as September 29, with pre-orders beginning from September 22. This is the quickest iPhone launch in the Indian market, with it being just a week after its US launch.

Considering that the iPhone X will be made available in India with a starting price of Rs. 89,000, it might not be a bad idea to look at some of the earlier generation models that offer good features at affordable prices, especially post the official price cut.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus India price, availability

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus follow the same design language as their predecessors. They sport metal and glass bodies now though, and come in only two storage variants - 64GB and 256GB. The iPhone 8 price in India for the 64GB variant is Rs. 64,000, while the 256GB model costs Rs. 77,000. Similarly, the iPhone 8 Plus price in India has been set as Rs. 73,000 for the base 64GB storage variant, while the model with 256GB storage is Rs. 86,000. The iPhone 8 models' release date in India is September 29, as part of the second phase of release. As for the iPhone 8 price in the US, the 64GB and 256GB variants of the smaller model will be $699 and $849, respectively, and the iPhone 8 Plus will cost $799 and $949 for the 64GB and 256GB variants.

Apple's iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are powered by A11 Bionic SoC six-core processors and improved GPU, which is 30 percent more efficient than the GPUs in last year's models. The new SoC and GPU are able to perform complex tasks such as video encoding at much faster rate.

While iPhone 8 models will be available from September 29 in India, those looking forward to the iPhone X release will have to wait till November 3. Pre-orders, however, in the country will start on October 27, part of the first wave of countries.

The iPhone X price in India is on top of every fan's mind in the country as it will become the first mainstream to breach the Rs. 1-lakh barrier when it launches. Priced in India at Rs. 1,02,000 for iPhone X 256GB variant, this price beats even the iPhone 7 Plus' Rs. 92,000 launch price tag announced last year. Even the 64GB variant of the iPhone X - which is the new Apple flagship, positioned above the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus - will cost a hefty Rs. 89,000, though it does not come close to the Rs. 1 lakh mark.
iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus India price cuts

Just a day after the launch of the three new iPhone models, the old iPhone models received an official price cut. Starting with the iPhone 7, the 32GB storage variant of the smartphone is now available for purchase at Rs. 49,000, while the 128GB can be purchased at Rs. 58,000, as seen on the company's India website. On the other hand, the 32GB variant of the iPhone 7 Plus is now available for Rs. 59,000, and the 128GB variant of the smartphone is now available at a price of Rs. 68,000. Both the smartphones can be found on varied e-commerce portals and through retail outlets as well.
iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus India price cuts

Even the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus received a price cut soon after the launch of the new iPhone models. The iPhone 6s 32GB and 128GB storage variants of the smartphone were earlier available for Rs. 46,900 and Rs. 55,900 in India but are now being offered at Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 49,000, respectively.

If we talk about the larger iPhone 6s Plus, the 32GB and 128GB storage variants of the handset were earlier available for purchase in India at a price of Rs. 56,100 and Rs. 65,000 but will now be available at Rs. 49,000 and Rs. 58,000 respectively. Both the smartphones can be found on varied e-commerce portals and through retail outlets as well.
