How to Block SMS Spam on iOS 11

Image
SMS spam is something that plagues pretty much everyone who has an Indian SIM card, and even those who live abroad. Be it frauds, asking you to buy shares in companies to double your wealth, or just your neighbourhood store sending promotional messages, these messages get more annoying by the day. Not only do they spam you with notifications, these texts also get in the way of iMessage since Apple’s messaging service also uses the same Messages app. This means that you’re better off getting rid of these spam messages. You could easily do this in iOS 9but on iOS 10 that method stopped working. Your only option was to disable notifications for these messages manually. That’s quite a tiring task, but with iOS 11, third-party apps can help you get the job done quite easily. Before you start blocking SMS spam, you need to be aware that the third-party apps you use to solve this problem will be able to read your messages. If your privacy is very important to you, this coul

The move came on the same day the South Korean smartphone maker forecast record third-quarter operating profit on the back of the memory chip business which Kwon was instrumental in building into the world leader. Samsung tipped record earnings, it's going to be better in the fourth-quarter, and all that's been driven by Kwon's components business," said Park Ju-gun, head of research firm CEO Score. Kwon, 64, is seen as Samsung Group No. 2. As well as being chairman of the board and a board director, he heads the components business - including memory chips - and the display business. In a statement, the man known as "Mr Chip" said the time had come to "start anew with new sprit and young leadership". "We are fortunately making record earnings right now, but this is the fruit of past decisions and investments; we are not able to even get close to finding new growth engines by reading futur

All iPhone 2018 Models to Abandon Touch ID Fingerprint Scanner: Ming-Chi Kuo

Image
If you were planning to ditch Apple's iPhone X model in hopes that perhaps next year its successor will have a fingerprint scanner embedded into the display, you're up for some big disappointment. According to a noted analyst at KGI Securities, Apple intends to not include the Touch ID fingerprint scanner in any of the iPhone models it will launch next year. The rationale behind the move, KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo says, is to have a competitive advantage over the rivals. Even as Samsung and a handful of other Android smartphone vendors have tried their hands at facial recognition feature, their solutions are far from perfect. It needs to be pointed out that we don't know yet how people will react to the iPhone X's Face ID technology. The company will begin shipping the phone next month. "We predict all new 2H18F iPhone models will likely abandon fingerprint recognition. We believe this change will allow all new models to realise a competitive adv

Apple Might Revert To LCD Displays For The iPhone 9

Image
The yet to be released iPhone Xwas met with great response after it was announced that it will finally sport an OLED display. Apple has been using LCD panels for its iPhones for the longest time and the need for a display with more vibrant colours and deeper blacks was on the rise. Apple satiated those needs with the iPhone X but, it looks like the dream of an OLED display on all iPhones will be short-lived. The Wall Street Journal has reported that Apple is interested in buying LCD display panels from a Japanese manufacturer, Japan Display. But, the LCD panels won’t be any ordinary LCD panels, in fact these LCD displays are called Full Active and are expected to make up 70% of Apple’s display orders for its next lineup of iPhones which will launch in September 2018. Full Active LCD screens apparently make it easy for smartphone manufacturers to make edge-to-edge phones even more compact. As compared to OLED screens, Full Active LCD screens are only 0.5mm thick (or th
